A continuation ACC211, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Topics include current liabilities and contingencies, long-term liabilities and receivables, investments, contributed capital, retained earnings, earnings per share, income recognition, income taxes, post employment benefits, leases, statement of cash flows and accounting for changes and errors. Spring only. Prerequisite: ACC211.

1. Explain the proper accounting treatment of various current liabilities.
2. Create a spreadsheet to calculate accrual balances for compensated absences or other current liabilities.
3. Calculate amortization of bonds payable using the effective interest rate method.
4. Perform accounting for investments in debt or equity securities.
5. Explain the proper accounting treatment of various components of contributed capital.
6. Perform accounting for various types of dividends.
7. Perform diluted earnings per share calculations.
8. Analyze revenue transactions using the performance obligations model or long term contract method.
9. Apply interperiod or intraperiod income tax allocation.
10. Identify the various types of postretirement benefits.
11. Create a spreadsheet to calculate pension plan expense.
12. Perform accounting transactions for leases.
13. Prepare a statement of cash flows using the indirect method.
14. Explain the reporting of various types of accounting changes.
