Introduces principles of good argument and techniques developed by logicians for use in mathematics, philosophy, and the other sciences. Practices defining and solving problems in informal fallacies, logical reasoning and symbolic expression.

1. Identify argument structures and approaches
2. Define concepts of propositional logic
3. Describe the contributions of various philosophers to the development of logic
4. Evaluate logical arguments encountered in texts
5. Execute deductive arguments
6. Execute inductive arguments
7. Classify philosophical ideas within major branches of philosophy
8. Evaluate the use of logic in contemporary contexts
9. Discuss how logic applies to a professional field of interest (e.g. social justice, theatre, nursing, fine arts, criminal justice, human services, etc.)
